I'm looking for the best low-light camera options -- either in a still camera or a camcorder that takes good stills in the 3-4 megapixel range. My main requirement is that I need to use extreme zoom (10x to 12x) in a relatively low-light environment. For example, from the audience I'm wanting to capture on-stage photos during a chorus concert. There's not a lot of fast action, but I'm wanting sharp, focused shots at (usually) maximum zoom with no flash.

(Not asking for much, eh?) :G

I've had better luck with my Sony TRV-27 DV camcorder taking low-light still pictures than with my new Canon A610, which goes into "shaky-warning-mode" at the slightest increase of the zoom and therefore produces blurry pictures. The Sony, which is better about taking less-blurry pictures, unfortunately, shows a high amount of noise in low-light conditions. And is showing it's age with its fairly low-resolution photo (1.2 mp) capability.

I've read the Sanyo Xacti all-digital camcorders take fairly impressive low-light no-flash pictures and has a stabilization feature to help prevent blurred photos. Any feedback on this?

Can anyone help me discover a camera or camcorder that would meet my needs?

Thanks in advance for any advice anyone might have!

Look at the reviews for the Fuji's...they're cameras are much better than others in ISO performance (low light ability).
