I currently have a Canon A80. I've had it for 3 years. I need a new camera.

I mainly shoot family photographs both indoors and out. My daughter is 3 - so one problem I'm having is the auto focus isn't fast enough so I get blurry pictures. Also, the camera is too slow. She'll look away on the first shot and then look back - but my camera isn't ready to take another picture.

I love the picture quality of the a80. I think the colors are beautiful.

Another problem lately, is taking close up pictures. They turn out fuzzy.

I don't have a lot of time to fiddle with the camera - so need good auto modes. She does things so fast now. I also have a new baby on the way so will be taking lots of close ups.

I've been considering the A630, S3IS, SD700IS. But Price range can be up to $500.

Since taking flash pictures of a newborn isn't the best idea, consider a camera that is good in low light situations. Add the Fuji F31FD (Face Detection technology) to your list. Since you threw in a megazoom, the Fuji S6000FD has the same sensor as the F31, but adds the lens of the S9000 (10.7x - 28 to 300mm). Both would be considerably faster than your A80, and both would be better in low light situations than the ones currently on your list.

Rinnie is so correct-

In fact, I am myself headed in that very direction. Today I ordered a Fuji S-6000fd. I will be happy to post some photos as soon as I receive the camera. I do not think that it is a so called "perfect" camera. However, it is an advanced orhobbist camera that offers some features thatinterest me a lot.
