I work for a company that does bridge inspections. We currently have the Olympus C5060 and were pleased with it until recently. It no longer turns on and when it does it starts going through menus by itself. We are looking for a new camera. We are looking at the C8080 since it is basically the same, but upgraded and could use the same batteries and memory cards. Do you have any suggestions for other cameras? It needs to have a 3:2 resolution, auto focus, auto flash and a tilt view finder is nice. We take pictures of the underside of bridges so the tilt screen really comes in handy. We are looking to spend under $1000. Thanks for any info.

nine iron-

If the wide angle photo capability can be waived, the Canon A-610 or A620 or the Pentax Optio Z-750could be used and they would give a titlt screen capability at a rock bottom cost. Both theNikon 5400 and 8400 (ultra wide photos) camerashave a wide angle and a tilt screen.

That should get you started.
