I need help on chosing a point and shoot as a secondary camera for my travels.

I need:
At least 12x zoom (not digital).
Non time limited movie function, 640x480 30fps.
At least 2.5" LCD
Very good macro

I hope for:
RAW shooting, preferably not taking several seconds between shoots.
As much control over the output as possible.
Total manual control for aperture, ISO, speed, focus. As on ordinary SLR's.
Underwater housing.

There are more wishes but those I can check up on myself.

I've checked out some, especially models from Olympus, Panasonic, and Sony. I don't want to name the models as I want to hear your recommendations or thoughts on the good and bad about the ones to chose from.

It has yet to be proven that intelligence has any survival value.

Have you checked Steve's Best Cameras list for super-zooms that have RAW? http://www.steves-digicams.com/best_cameras.html You really won't go wrong off of that list.

I don't think you'll find RAW in a digicam without taking a few seconds between shots. I think one of the fastest will be the Panasonic FZ8, about 3 seconds shot to shot in RAW mode.

I think there are only about 8 current models with a 10x zoom or more and RAW mode.

Fuji S6000, S9100, Olympus SP-510, SP-550, Panasonic FZ8, FZ50, Leica V-Lux1, Kodak P712.

If you limit it to 12x and 2.5" LCD, you're down to P712, SP-550, and FZ8.

And if you can do without RAW, the Canon S3IS and S5IS have very good movie modes and macro modes.
