At only $100 more than the K100D Super, the K10D is a great buy.

And Pentax has a great selection of fast wide angle to medium telephoto lenses, but for fast long lenses, the pickings are slim. There's the Sigma 70-200mm f/2.8 and the Sigma 100-300mm f/4, and not much else. These are your wildlife lenses. Canon and Nikon have better selections, but you lose the sensor shift image stabilization. Sony and Olympus also have more choices, but at steep prices.

Do you still happen to have that 50mm 1.7 or 1.4 lens that came with many Pentax film cameras? If so, you can use that one (all types work on the dSLRs)in caves. I still use my M 50mm 1.7 that came with a Pentax ME back in 1980. It's manual focusand not auto exposure so you have to push a button to let the camera meter, but the camera beeps at you when it thinks the focus is right and pushing an extra button is easy to get used to. That lens is like an old friend (and can be found on the used lens market for significantlyless than$100 if you don't have one - the A, F and FA versions all add capability and will cost more).
