I work for a very very very small newspaper and am looking for a new digital camera.

I usually take several photos very quickly during a short time period since most people do not like getting their pictures taken. I'm a 'hit and run' photographer. I try to get as many quick and easy shots I can in a short time period, then leave the subjects alone.

So I need a camera that "works" very quickly, from the time i click the button, to the time the camera focuses, to the time it actually takes the picture.

Unfortunatally, I do not know what I need to be looking for.

Any help that I can get would be appreciated.

If you want a "fast" camera, then you should consider a DSLR. style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #000000" If you can't afford one, try selecting a prosumer or bridge camera.Prosumer's usually faster than smaller pocket cameras though it's still very slow compared to a DSLR.
