That would've been my suggestion. I bought that lens for my K100D and it was all I took on a trip to Peru and Machu Picchu last year. The lens exceeded my expectations. I hope it performed well for you.

Thanks for the post. You are the first person I have encountered using a Tamron 18-250mm on a Pentax. I noticed that there is also a Pentax 18-250mm lens, but I have not been able to locate any photo samples.

The biggest complaint thatI have read in the reviews is that the Tamron 18-250mm is rather slow to focus. How is it in real time?

i obviously have not much to compare to, but the way i use it, admittingly in rather static objects, it seems to focus rather fast, and surely much faster than if i would do it manually.

Will tell you after Africa how it felt like over there.
