I currently have a Sony H2 and love the camera. However I'm thinking about leaving it home as it is a bit bulky. I'm looking for a good compact/ultra-compact that can handle the vibrant colors of Ireland. Any suggestions?

I'd suggest whatever camera you get that you make sure you have enough memory card space or a protable hard disc storage device to hold all your photos untilyou can ofload them at home onto CDs/DVDs. Also check the carry-on luggage requires for Europ and Irleand as some places only allow you one carry on which might mean you need to cary all your camera gear in your carry-on suite case and not in a seperate camera bag.

As for a compact ultra small camera I have no experience with that but several of my friends have cannon cameras from the A series with 3 and 4x optical zooms that they like.

If you like the look of the photos in your H2, why not stick with Sony? The Cybershot DSC W-80 is a good ultracompact with optical image stabilization and takes bright, colorful pictures. It's widely available at less than $200.
