Hello everyone,

I´m divided between Canon 450D and Olympus e-520, I´ve narrowed my choices to these two because of the hability to remotely operate them with a laptop (tethering).

I am well aware of the compromises that have be done in both systems. Ergonomicaly (and emotionally - can this be a reason? )I would choose the e-520 but reason takes me back to the 450D - if only I could find a replacement grip...

I Live in Helsinki, Finland, and here both one lens kits are roughly the same price ( the e-520 is 30 euros more expensive )

Which of these systems ( Camera/Lenses/Battery/LCD/SD vs CF storage) is more likely to fail with cold weather? not only in operation but during transport from A to B. Here in Helsinki temperatures can easily be -15C. In the past it was common for my film SLRs to have a blocked shutter if the temperature wud go below -10C.

I´m not expecting any miracle performance, I just want to be aware of the limitations and the elements more likely to fail.

Thanking you in advance

I think the best source for that information would be your local camera shop. Canon and/or Olympus might use special lubricants and materials for their cameras that will be sold in colder regions, so the info you receive here might not reflect the actual products thatmight be available to you.
