I've recently been thinking about buying a Sanyo Xacti camcorder, so I can take it on travels with my laptop.

But there's so many models, and they all seem similar, except for the price!

While I'm tempted by an HD model, it seems that the price is accordingly more expensive. Is it worth the extra money to be more future-proof?

I'm the type of person who likes good quality video and cheap prices... and I have no idea which to look at more closely! I'm going round in circles looking at the: CG9, CA8, CA6, and HD700...

Can anybody help? Many thanks

i have the ca8 and while its not perfect by any means it gets what i want done, especially useful when travelling as its waterproof, you really never know when that'll be useful. personally i'd go with the ca8, because you never know what shots you'll miss because you can't take your cam out in the rain snow beach etc., thats just me i may be a little biased because i don't have any other xacti's lol.

oh, as a side note, its on sale on amazon for 200 dollars till monday, so you should get it, i think its backordered right now but they honor the 200 price and free shipping, i just ordered another one as it was to good of a deal to pass up :]
