I need to replace my Canon SD600 with another pocket-size camera.

What makes this a pain for me and hopefully interesting for you is that I want to mount this to my car and take videos of runs around a track. my Elph currently attaches to a headrest mount, but a suction-cup mount on the hood would work a lot better. The problem? How do I start it recording??? As far as I can tell there's no remote at all for the canons, much less an RF remote to start video recording.

For obvious reasons, good image stabilization (non-software, preferably) is a must during video recording.

The last request comes from my wife. This will be the everyday camera we use to capture memories of our 1-year-old, and she wants something that takes better low-light photos than the camera we have.

Thanks in advance for your help,

P.S. thanks to everyone involved in the website - its easily the best digital camera information on the web and has been for a long time.
