I curretly am shooting with a FZ-18. My mom is wanting to purchase the camera from me so plan to sell it to her. However, I will need a replacement, I am considering the following cameras: Canon SX 10, Canon SX 1, Panasonic FZ-28 or the Sony A-300.

I take alot of family pics, zoo pictures as well as some airshow pics here and there. I would appreciate any insights that anyone could provide or advice on these 4 cameras. I realize three are superzooms and one is a DSLR.

Couple of questions I have is:

Is the SX1 worth the extra money over the SX10?

How much better would any of the cameras be over the FZ18?

I appreciate any guidance anyone can provide for me.

The Panasonic(lumix)DMC FZ 28 is a great all purpose camera. Leica lens is not too shabby either. I dont know but it just feels comfortable in your hands. I prefer my Nikon D300 but look at the cost difference .
When you take the cost, quality, great pictures, the FZ28 is just a great camera.
