Nikon P80 vs Canon S2 or S3

Hello
l already own a Rebel XSi.
However i need a smaller camera to take to birthdays, events, trips etc.
Was looking at Nikon P80 / canon S2 / Canon S3.
Still want to use my sdhc cards though so didnt look at Olympus / Pentax / Sony

I had a Canon S3. I'm now considering the Nikon P80. The 6Mp S3 had quite a bit of JPG compression, in my view that left the images faintly soft. But the S3 does score nicely for look-and-feel, as you might expect from Canon. There are ample sample shots from both, do make your own comparisons.
