Default Looking for a HD Video camera.

I am trying to get a good HD camera that would work well for video projects and for normal family home movies and events. My main requirements are an external microphone port and a nice picture. I was considering the Sanyo Xacti HD1010 due to its price and size, but the review of it on the forum makes me wonder.

Is the Sanyo a good choice or are the better similarly price cameras out there?

I have also considered the Canon HV20, the Canon VIXIA HF100 and the Canon VIXIA HF200. Are these better choices when you factor in the price difference as well? I currently have a Samsung SC-HMX10 but I can’t seem to get anything better than mediocre video with it.
