Default Recommendation for less abled user

Hi folks,

My father-in-law currently has an old Nikon CoolPix - can't remember the model, it's an 8 Mp camera (but he only used 5mp - don't ask)

He has MS and has diffuculty getting high and low shots so finds the tilting viewfinder a great asset.

The camera has now developed a fault and he wants a new one.

I've lost touch with the models over the years but I'm looking at the NIKON p90 or the Canon SX10 - both have tiltable LCD's

Can anyone suggest some more please

Also is the P90's lens REALLY a 24X Zoom - seems too good to be true

Yes, the Nikon P-90 is a 24X optical zoom camera. The Sony HX-1 camera also has a tilting LCD.

Default 8700

It sounds like he may have had the Coolpix 8700 or maybe the 8800.
I had the same and upgraded to the P90.
The size and feel of the 2 models is similar as well as the tilting lcd but the P90's is much bigger.
Great Camera and the image stabilization is really good. Alot of camera too. I think you could only get more if you went for a dslr.
