Default Looking for a DV/Stills hybrid with good audio recording

Hi, I hope you can help!

I'm looking for a compact DV camera that can also take good 4MP+ stills and has decent (preferably) optical zoom/stabilisation. My primary use will be for recording live rock gigs at a reasonable resolution (Ful HD not required, 720/480 is fine) , not to a professional level but mainly I need something that's mic has at least some chance of dealing with loud music, and is compact enough to fit in a *large* pocket.

I've been looking at the Sanyo Xacti range but have been put off by very mixed reviews. The Xacti HD2000/HD1000s are very tempting but I wonder if it's a little too large to fit in a pocket and I've read it's image stabilization is next to non-existant. I may be looking for a device that hasn't been invented yet, which is often the case !
