I was in your shoes not too long ago. I went to several different places and looked a several cameras. I didn't really know what I was looking for though. I ended up choosing between the same two units... ultimately choosing the D90 because of:
1) the positive reviews (note that i still think both are very good and I'm a beginner so i read into them mostly for impressions on ease of use). both were same, but the D90 was newer 2) price / getting the D90 allowed me to buy an extra lense 3) it felt more comfortable to hold and I liked the shutter sound better (I know... the latter is superficial, but the former was important to me. the 50D was heavier and the controls felt awkward... some people feel differently though). hope this helps. |

Donald-
Welcome to the Forum! My Goodness, you did exactly the right thing. You handled the two cameras, you read the reviews, and the savings you achieved with the Nikon D-90, allowed you to purchase a new lens. Well done! Post some images when you have a chance. Sarah Joyce |
