Something like the Fuji S200EXR with a 6 MP sensor.
Or even better, using the FOVEON sensor of the Sigma cameras. I need to replace my Fuji S5200 (actually my daughter wants it) but I don't need 12 MP, 6 would be nice, and better performance. |

Since you mentioned it, have you looked at the Sigma DP-2 or DP-1?

Yup, but they are fixed focal length. Now if they only had a 10X or greater optical zoom....

For a Foveon with a zoom, you'll need an SD 15 or SD14.

Yea, but here's the thing, I found out back in the film days, I just didn't take my SLR with all the time, actually hardly ever, because of all the "stuff" required.
These bridge camaeras have been great. I really love my Fuji S5200, just wish it had slightly better performance/picture quality. It is still large, but not compared to a DSLR, plus lenses. When we were going on a Alaskan crusie back in 06, I was torn between the lower end Nikon DSLR and the Fuji S5200. When I saw the size of a belt case (case that I could hang on my belt) with a 200mm (eq 35) zoom vs. the case for the Fuji, I was sold. I just want my cake and eat it too thing, I want the quality of a DSLR in a package like a Bridge...
