Default Lumix TZ6 or Canon Powershot SX200???

Hi all,

Does anyone have any opinions on which camera would be the best option?

I usually use my Canon EOS400d but I am going away hiking and want something more compact to take with me. I like that both cameras have a wider lens than the normal compact and a high optical zoom and I like the manual control aspect of the Canon but I would love to get some feedback on other people's opinions / experiences with either camera.

Thanks in advance!

I'm not an expert or anything, but the SX200 was on my short list for my recent p&s purchase. The reason I didn't buy it was mainly because of the position of the pop up flash. It comes up whether the flash is needed or not and is right where I would normally rest my index finger. It seems to be a common complaint when I was looking at reviews.

In a head to head competition among compact zoom cameras, the Panasonic ZS1/ZS3 won top honors. The ZS1/ZS3 camera have a 25mm wide angle versus 28mm on the canon SX-200 camera. I personally feel that the built-in flash on the ZS1/ZS3 is way underpowered.

The pop flash unit problem has already been mentioned.
