Shoturtle-- I definitely understand what you're saying, but theres no way I can afford the camera's over 600 dollars. I'm more looking for a good camera with max price probably 400, and that is easy to haul around

What are everyones thoughts on the Sony DSC-H20? Does it have manual control? I'm hesitant to buy a Sony but it may be a good camera. And its smaller than the other two I'm considering-- the P90 and the FZ35.

At this point I'm leaning towards the FZ35, after reading about it, it seems pretty amazing! As you said Sarah, it seems like a really good all-around camera. Do you know of any stores that would carry it? I'd like to go in and check one out. As I said, I already have a simple point and shoot to carry around day to day, so I'd enjoy having a larger (yet still easily portable) one in order to go out on my photography adventures. Thanks for all the input so far!!

the fz-35 is a great learning tool, offering an abundance of controls and a great lens in a reasonably portable frame.
