Default Decision, decisions....

I outgrew my point and shoot well over a year ago. A co-worker loaned me his wife's unused Canon Rebel and lens to play and shoot with for about 8 months now.

I'm ready to purchase my own camera now and good quality lenses. BUT...I'm having a tug of war....Nikon 300s, Nikon 700 or Nikon D7000.

I think the DX/FX comparisons may be throwing me off to help me decide. Understanding the DX/FX but unsure in how to apply this to my decision based on my interests in photography. Perhaps, I'm relying too much on this as part as my make or break choice in camera.

I enjoy macro (flowers and insects) and food photography very much, general every day shooting of nature/landscape. The video part of the camera doesn't interest me to date, I also don't do sports shots.

This is my dilemna, please help! Thanks
