Default P&S for Mom (a novice)

My dad is looking to purchase a new point and shoot camera for my mom for christmas. Here's what we are looking for:

-Budget is about $300.
-Would like to have video recording (HD if possible)
-Good indoors (lower light/high ISO settings) w/o flash
-Would also like as compact as possible.

Most of her pictures are indoors of family, and mainly her grandkids for get togethers, parties, etc. Also, keep in mind, she's pretty much going to be pointing and shooting, probably in Auto mode unless there is a memory mode where i can set it up for her (like indoor shots).
At first my dad picked up a Canon S90 for $300 on Black Friday, but we aren't thrilled about the non-autofocus on video. (Right?) That's not going to do any good with kids running around.
Zoom not important.
Any recommendations? I'm also going to scan some of the already asked posts, my time is just limited and I thought I'd ask directly. Thank you.

The Canon SD-4000 would be a wonderful choice for your Mom. Here is a sample photo.
