Default Shot to shot delay: Canon ELPH 300 HS vs Canon powershot A3300

I am in the process of zeroing in on an 'ultra compact' camera. Based on the reviews that I have read so far, I have shortlisted 2 cameras:

i) Canon ELPH 300 HS (sells as the 'IXUS 220 HS' here in India) and
ii) Canon Powershot A3300

I am leaning towards the ELPH 300, even though its $100 more than the A3300 in India, based on the following:
1) good low light performance
2) low lag between shots

Both seem to suffer from weak flash performance.

My key question: DOES THE ELPH 300 HAVE SIGNIFICANTLY LOWER LAG BETWEEN SHOTS? Steve's review appears to suggest that this is not the case. Shot to shot delay with flasH on the ELPH is 3.4-3.7 seconds vs 3.8 seconds on the A3300. Without flash, its 1 second faster. Not a whole lot for a casual photographer like me!

Please advise.
