Default Replacing my Nikon P90

I currently have a Nixon p90 and am looking to up grade. I was think of getting a Cannon rebel t2i or t3. I mainly did point and shoot but after doing further research I see that doesnt have that?? I mainly take Picts of my dogs and my 5 year old niece and 3 year old nephew, all of which will not say ok let me stand here and let you take a pict of me so I am going to need something that is not going to take forever to take a picture, and that will not look grainy when taken indoors. Nikon takes wonderful Picts outdoors! Any advice on what I should get?

Both the cameras you mention will more than suffice for your needs- however, the biggest decision,as with all who upgrade to an SLR,is what lens to put on it.
Will the standard kit lens suffice? Do you want/need a little more zoom range?
Do I go for an "all in one" lens(say Canon's 18-135 IS lens or the 18-200 IS lens) or a zoom lens to go with the kit lens, say the 55-250 IS lens- the latter certainly being by far the cheaper option! Only you can decide....
