Default Best compact for travel, fun and indoors (if that's possible)

So, after all the research for a Christmas gift for a relative, I've decided I might benefit from a compact myself. I have a Powershot SX10 and I love it, I take it on all my trips, but it's far from small and light. I'd use the compact for casual shots (to take with me to dinner parties or other events where I don't feel like carrying the big one). I don't expect it to produce as good results as the SX10, but I would still like decent quality so I can sporadically take it on vacation with me.

Sony DSC-WX9
Canon S95

I'm pretty much set on these two, and because their prices are so different I need opinions. Is the S95 really worth it for what I'm looking for? or would the Sony be enough? Or any others...?

The S95 is a better indoor stuff camera. The larger sensor really help it preform at high iso and give better iq. If indoor is very important the sony is not as good a choice.
Super Frequent Flyer, no joke. Ex Patriot and loving it.
Canon Eos 60D, T1i/500D, Eos1, Eos 630, Olympus EPL-1, and a part time Pentax K-X shooter.
