Default Need New Camera, But Not Just Any

I've been using an Olympus C-765 UltraZoom for several years now and have been well satisfied. It has now quit and is I judge too expensive to fix. I'm having trouble finding a replacement with the things I want on it. My absolute musts are:

A viewfinder

> 4 megapixels

non-proprietary batteries (AA or AAA)

> 8x optical zoom

Can anyone suggest non-SLR camera(s) that I should look at? Thank you.

Interestingly- LCD viewfinders seem to be the preserve of camera's with whopping zooms or expensive compacts with optical viewfinders.
If you don't mind a zoom WELL over 8x,maybe look into the inexpensive Fujifilm s4000.
It has 14mp sensor,a 30x (yes-30x...!!) 24-720mm zoom,an electronic viewfinder,uses 4xAA's and has the full manual options as your C-765 UZ had.
There is also a S3300 model(26x- 24-624mm zoom) and a S3400(28x- 24-672mm).
Being essentially a budget entry into the super-zoom world, image quality is decent in good light- but will struggle in low light.
Here's a few pics from the S4000...

If you could give me some idea of your budget- and your size limitations(if any),then I can suggest many more models...
