Up until very recently, I would always recommend Panasonic's TS line of tough/waterproof cameras as having the best image quality within the class. And you still can't go wrong with them. But now, I think the Olympus TG-1 is the one to go with. Olympus has improved performance speed and image quality with this tough camera compared with its earlier models. And, unlike any other camera in the class, it offers an aperture of f/2.8 at the wide end of its zoom range, which means the camera won't need higher ISO settings as often as others. Plus Olympus's best tough cameras are the toughest of the tough within the class.

Thanks Biro !
If I end to go the the possible Sony upgrade from TX 5 to TX 20... is this upgrade worth it, you think ? Again, image quality is my concern/motivation. Thank.. Tor |
