city_zen... I have owned an X-S1 and would say that the AF is on a par with competing models- brisk at the wide end and but not quite so brisk at the long end.
However,the image stabiliser is less effective than competing models.
The Panny's f/2.8 at the long end is FAR brighter than the X-S1's f/5.6.
The X-S1's high iso noise control might be slightly better than the Panny' but with that bright lens,using a high iso setting will be far less necessary.
