Anyone that recognizes me from the W1 discussion, this is a completely separate question with very different parameters.

I'm looking for a simple, all around easy to use 4 mp digicam that takes very good point and shoot pictures. My mom is looking to go digital. She is strictly a 35mm point and shoot photog up until now. For the past year or so she's been playing with the tiny 1mp camera that came with her computer and getting the results you'd expect. Now she is ready to get a real digicam.

So, we need simple: good program modes and auto functionality. Forget manual. Good flash for indoor, good response/fairly fast lag for ease-of-use, etc. Should be small, but doesn't need to be subcompact. moderately priced.

Main use: vacations, family gatherings, her darling granddaughter. Mix indoor and outdoor.

The Kodak EasyShare CX7430 is low-priced, ease-of-use, good for in- and outdoor shots and it's not subcompact - good for big hands as well, though.

Read Steve's review - plus watch sample pictures.
