I'm going on holiday at the end of the year and am looking for a compact camera thatI can fit into my pocket, butI will also be trekking around a bit so need one that can take the knock.I think i've narrowed it down to the canon powershot 410, as i've heard they are built like a sherman tank, and the olympus stylus 410, due to its weatherproof characteristics. If anyone has used either or both of these i'm keen to hear how they fared in real world conditions. Any info would be much apprediated.

I have used Canon S410. It's a good compact camera. The flash causes less red eye (or none) in pictures than Olympus 410.
And the noise level is much better too.

The build is good in Canon. No plastic.
Only negative thing is VCD 15 frames video mode.

For normal use, it's a very good digital camera. One of the best 4Mpix that I know.
