Hello all,

I hope everyone is well.

Here is the story; I purchased an Olympus D-520two years ago, (not cheap then!), and I have no problems with it as far as a point and shoot camera. However, I have been elected to take photos of my son's high school football games. The problem I am having is that the flash is not good enough distance wise, unless I am standing 9' away. Not too possible. I use my 35mm Pentax for shots also, but really like the convenience of a digital.

Does anybody have a suggestion of what I should upgrade to? I only need a 2 or 3 m. pixel. And I would really not like to break the bank! I was thinking of something with the capability of an external flash unit?

Thanking you in advance for the help.

In your situation (you are still happy with your camera) , there is no reason to buy another camera , just buy a slave flash ( take a look at external flash forum).

- If your camera can have tyhe preflash diseabled (1 burst only), then you can use any external flash + a cheap slave cell.

- If you can not diseable preflash, then you have to choose among those "digital ready slave flash" on the maket. The are quite afordable.

There are other threads in that forum as well ...
