I currently have a Sony P10 - works great, takes great pictures. I just have a couple issues. The flash takes way too long to refresh... can't take repeative shots...

That and I'd like to have some manual control of aperature/shutter/etc... I think with some of that I wouldn't need the flash as often either...

I've looked at the Canon line of cameras - and in their digicams they have some with manual controls, but none have really fast flash recharge. Seems that only the dSLRs have the recharge time as fast as I would like it - anybody have any other experience?

I would look to the G series of Minolta. I have a G400 and it refreshes pretty quick. I can shoot in continuous mode with flash forever.
