I have been looking and reading reviews for both Canon S500 and Canon A95 cameras..... :?.

....Not able to decide which one of them to buy, based on the functions, reliability etc....(price is almost same for these 2 cameras)

Appreciate your recommendations.

If you want to carry it around in your pocket get the S500. If you want advanced and manual exposure modes get the A95. Manual exposure on the S500 is just a menu that takes you to automatic modes – I'm disappointed in Canon for that little bit of sleaze.

You have to buy a charger and rechargeable batteries for the A95, but then spares are cheap. It is a considerably heavier and larger camera than the S500.

The Canon A95 is a great camera, but as Slipe said, if you want a compact camera and don't care too much for manual controls, then go for the S500.

Here is my gallery of the A95 http://nicolas7894.fotopic.net/c341553.html

Here are some galleries of many cameras, perhaps it cna give u an idea of what each camera can do http://www.pbase.com/cameras
