Does anyone know of a small or pocket digital camera that can use a cable shutter release? I know of the ones that use an inferred remote control but they have to be aimed at the front of the camera. I am a quadriplegic with limited use of my hands and cannot hold the camera and push the shutter button at the same time. I could hold the camera with a cable shutter release and operate the shutter with my mouth. Thank you.

You might want to find a used or refurbished Olympus D40. It comes with a remote and has a sensor both on the front and back. The rear sensor has less range, but it would work fine for what you want.
Amazon has a few and Ebay has this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW
