I need a superzoom that will take great indoor sporting action pictures from 40-75 feet away. I like both of these models and am curious if the fz3 is worth another $200 for just an amateur photographer? Also, I have been told that you can tweek the fz1 into an fz2 (basically) with the help of a website. Any knowledge of this?

And is the Minolta z3 worth the money over either of these cameras. Please help! I need a quick answer as I will need to use whichever I chooselater thisweek.

With such a distance (20+ meters - sorry can not operate in foots :-) ) and indoor (poor light)neither one give you top quality pix. Everything above ISO 100 is virtually useless in small sensor cameras (P&S, prosumer) and even if IS helps you stabilize you hand shake how about quick sport motions? You need ISO 800+ - yeah I lead you to DSLR department - sorry :-)
