I know I'm getting obsessed with buying the "perfect" camera when I register at a forum like this :-) But I really look forward to learning alot from you all!

I'm currently in the process of replacing my Canon A80. Good camera, but I really want a "pocket/purse-sized" camera. I really like the features on the A95, except for the size.. also I'm looking for a few more mp.

I'm taking the Nikon 5900 for a test run but so far I am not impressed. The lag time is way too long, and it seems that it is impossible to get a shot in focus if I am not using auto mode. Also it lacks aperture/shutter priority and manual control settings. The one thing I do like is the size of the camera and the size of the screen.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what I may be looking for? TIA!

Unfortunately there just isn't much to choose from in compact digicams w/A/S/M modes. There are a few however, including the Pentax MX4, and the Fuji "E" series. The Pentax hasn't garnered rave reviews, and the Fuji's are not that much smaller than the 95. There is also the new Canon A510/520 too, but of course they won't be as nice as an A95. They are nice little cameras though, and would make a good choice as long as you are aware of their performance numbers. So far, the A510 is the smallest digicam I've seen that has proper A/S/M modes via mode selector dial.
