hey im looking at getting a digicam.

i want to use it mainly for concert and regular use, and also importantly - MACRO use.

i dont know much about the different models - i like the s1 is b/c its affordable, has long lens, and swivel viewer.

what are the best digicams for under $350 or so that fit this -- i don't know if/how well the s1 is macro mode is (does it even have one?)

i'm just looking into it.

any and all suggestions are extremely welcome.

i dont think the s1 is has a hot shoe - is that going to be a huge problem b/c i BELIEVE for macro stuff you'd want a ring lite or some other sort of flash..will it be a huge deal if i cant add an external flash to the digicam?

where do i go? help me!

well i rcently ordered a cannon S1 IS and when i recieved it i opened the box and inserted the memory card and it gave me a memory card error, i had also bought a 512 meg memory card and it gave me the same error message so i called cannon and they said the camera was defective and that i would have to pay shipping and handling to send it to their repair factory. Needless to sa i wasnt very happy at all paid for a brand new camera that didnt work and had to be repaired before i even had a chance to use it. Thank god i ordered it through dell and dell had someone pick the camera up at no charge to me and refunded my money so no more cannons for me i ordered the fuji S5100
