Am seriously looking at all the subcompacts out there and would like opinions/ideas on which may be bested suited to me.

Ruled out Sony, Olympus and Fuji for storage type. Much prefer the mainstream choice of SD (already bought a Sandisk Ultra II 1Gb). Also, will be passing on the Canon SD500/400 as they don't have "Sport" or "Snow" modes, even though I still love and use my old trusty Canon S100.

Once thought to dismiss the non-camera brands, but they are all using excellent lenses and these cameras are obviously heavily electronic devices.

Will be using it for everything from everyday landscapes and portraits to auction listings, skiing shots, volleyball action and almost any other pic imaginable.

Looking for 5mp+, 3x opt+, quality lens, pocket size, SD, metal body, large LCD and plenty of scene modes. Preferable would be a wall charger (cradle limits travel re-charging, IMO), VGA video.

High on list:
Pentax Optio S5z
Kodak V550

Not far behind:
Konca-Minolta Dimage X60
Casio EX-S500
Casio EX-Z57
Casio EX-Z750 (slightly larger)
Nikon Coolpix S1
Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX7

Samsung i5
Konica-Minolta Dimage X1

Any input would be greatly appreciated...
