I am looking for a compact camera which will be ideal for taking on holiday or out for evenings with friends. Would prefer one that can be recharged so i don't spend a fortune on batteries.

I was looking at the Fuji F440 but then was distracted by Canon as they seem to have better options for different picture modes and once i've started looking at different cameras and the specifiactions i'm getting more confused and further away from making a decision.

I'd like to get a Sony P200 but they're a bit pricey for what i am looking for as it's not like i will be using it every day - just for occasional use.

Looking to spend no more than £180, including the cost of a fatter memory card. Any ideas please?

I don't really know what percentage of your photos will be done with flash an/or existing light. However here in the USA the Fuji F-10 a digital camera capable of using ISO setting up to 1600 sell for less thn $300 (US).

It might be a camera worth a look. I have attached a sample F-10 photo.
