The topic of purchasing a camera for an 80+ year old mother was last posed in May, http://www.stevesforums.com/forums/v...hlight=elderly
In that case the mom knew how to use a computer, and the son was looking for just a camera. My mom is also elderly, but even though she runs a business she has not been able to learn to use a computer. She wants a digicam, and she will probably be happiest with one that has a cradle with built-in 4x6 photo printer. When a person gets up in years their eyesight gets a little weak, so a little 1.5" viewfinder / display isn't going to be adequate. Similarly, they don't want to fumble with plugging and unplugging cables, or removing batteries to charge them. Ideally, each button on the camera would be large, with a readable lable and a defiinte click when pressed, and have only one purpose. She needs to print the images, since she has no computer to view them on. Viewing them on a TV would not be good enough, because she wants to show them to her friends at work. So, everyone, can you suggest a digicam? Or, perhaps she should stick with film? Thank you! |
