my friend is looking to purchase a new compact camera. her main criteria are as follows:

take fast moving pictures of her dogs

crop the pictures and to blow up to A4

indoor portraits possibly in low light conditions

close up shots of flowers.

which camrea do you think will be the best all rounder for these types of picture/

I could be wrong but with those requirements I see that you are going to need a digital camera with a higher than normal ISO capability. If you do not require a lot of zoom capability, you could get by with a Fuji F-10, if you wanted more features, and more zoom, then look at theFuji S-5200.

I am not on a Fuji kick here, they just are about the only lower priced cameras that can go to higher ISO's. You might also take a look at the Olympus Stylus 800 as well which can also use high ISO settings, but it would not be my first choice because it has gotten less than sterling reviews.

Also keep in mind that the F-10 and the Stylus 800 do NOT have optical viewfinders. All sighting and framingn of your photo is done via the camera's LCD screen.
