You are an absolute hero. I haven't gotten this much response to ANY post I've made.
You have basically taken this guy to school and back. All but bought his camera for him, registered him in Photog Classes and gone to class for him.

I have had to spend hour upon hour upon hour to get a fraction of this information... Bought books, magazines, hit the libraries and POUNDED this site. Believe me, I've learned a ton from following these types of posts. Not complaining. Just blown away. I need to learn how to get so much feedback to my questions.

I see, but for just outside plain shots i can use the 50 mm or 18-200mm?
Sure, and you could always use a flash indoors with a zoom (and a bright 50mm is a good choice for many existing light condtions).

Again, lots of cameras can meet your needs, if you don't mind using a flash (and some non-DSLR models may be able to do OK in typical indoor lighting without a flash).

Your Sony T1 is one of the worst performers you can find for indoor photos, with one of the weakest flashes on the market in a camera from a major manufacturer.

Also, make sure to keep size and weight in mind. It's been my experience that the larger and heavier the solution, the more likely you'll leave it at home.
