I posted this question a couple of days ago but the heading may not have attracted as many folks as I'd like to weigh in on this . I really appreciate the one response I did get, would like a few more.

I'm looking for an ultracompact that is fast, easy to use, and durable. I take a lot of photos while riding a bicycle. The Pentax Optio WP intrigues me as it is waterproof, and I do more riding in the rain than I care to admit, living in the soggy Pacific NW. But it is a bit slower and less favored by reviewers.

The Casio Z750 is very highly rated, it's fast, but it has had "lens error" problems associated with the camera turning on while it is in a case or pocket, and the lens tries to extend with not enough room to do so. Or, while the lens is extended, it gets bumped. The gears go off track. There is a work-around to prevent accidentally turning the camera on but it involves remembering to leave it in "audio record" mode, meaning you lose time switching modes after you turn the camera on. Supposedly the newer production runs don't have this problem, any recent purchasers still have the "lens error" problem?

I'm outdoors more than in with the camera, so even a tiny viewfinder is a plus. Obviously I'm not going to use it for a grab shot while riding one-handed! But for framing group photos in sunny conditions (all 2 days of them each year) it's a help.

Other cameras I should consider?? Olympus Stylus? Panasonic Luminix? Canon?

Thanks a bunch. This forum is a great resource.
