Hi All...

I'm in the market for a new camera, my Olympus C-4000z is a nice camera, but way too slow in every way. We are constantly missing shots of our kids due to long start-up times and the time in between shots, so I'm looking for something fast, equal or greater picture quality and fairly easy on the wallet.

I was drawn to the Panasonic Fz30 due to its great feature set, erogonimics, and great lens (good for soccer and T-Ball). But am now a bit gun shy due to reports of noise issues with this camera, so my questions are:

1. Does anyone know how the picture quality / noise would compare to my Olympus C-4000Z - I don't want to go backwards in overall quality.

2. Does noise have a huge impact on printing photos

3. Does noise affect pictures differently taken at a smaller resolution / say 5 MP vs the full 8 MP.

4. Any other camera recommendations for taking family type shots / including sporting events, trips to disney etc...

I really like the FZ30 and its value / cost ratio, just looking for some expert opinions.

Take Care!
