I am having problems getting a good acurate profile for my Epson 7600. I splashed out on a Gretag MacBeth i1 Photo Pro profiling system, and did my profiling as required, but the profiled prints come out too black. In my test print with 10x black-to-white squares, the black and 90% black look identicle, and 80% black is not much better. I looked through my printer documentation but cannoty find anything that would enable me to reduce the black laydown of ink to compensate. Can this be done?

I am troubled too by the fact that the newly acquired (expensive) profile is not 100% right on something so basic as gray scale. I admit it is possible I could have done something wrong - but don't see what. Anyone any ideas or experience to help me out?
