I have the Epson 1280 that still works fine. The big problem is when it runs out of one color of ink Ineed to replace the whole cartridge. It produces really great photographs on Epson premium glossy photo paper. That is the paper I like to use the most. Replacing the cartridge gets pretty expensive so now that the 1400 is out I thought of getting one due to it uses seperate cartridges for each color of ink. I'm guessing it would be cheaper to operate then the 1280. If anyone on our forum has made the switch please fill the rest of us in on your experience.

Dear Ronnie,

Maybe you can change you cartirdge by CISS(continuouse ink supply system ),this is the best way to save your cost.

Hey! Never had the 1280, but have had the 1400 for 2 weeks, and love it. I immediately got a CIS from ink.supply.hk, and love it too. It was cheap, and the installation instructions showed a differents printer, but it has worked perfectly so far. A CIS is the only was to go.
