It had taken a while, but today I received some refillable cartridges with resettable chip for the Epson Pro 3800.Since the encryption on the original cartridges is very high, you need the original chip of your OEM cartridge to work with.

Hi,
Where did you get these carts? I'd like to buy a set. Do you still have to reset the chip after each refill? How much was everything?

Thanks!

avpman,

You can contact Robert at info@refill-cc.bizfor those living in the EU, but I am sure he will export to the USA as well. See the topic on top of this from Robertgemco.

Hi,

I just received my Epson pro 3800 refillable cartridges from inkjetfly.com before Christmasand am very staisfied with the print result so far. The refill process wasfairly easy if you follow the instructions, but you do need the original oem chips to work with their chips.

The chip resetter was sort of odd looking but works. I'm tired of paying the high priced oem cartridges.

Can't stress this enough... but you don't just need OEM chips but they also..

...MUST NOT BE REGISTERING AS EMPTY!!!

If you leave it till they're empty then you're going to be totally out of luck...

No, you're incorrect. With inkjetfly's 3800 chips, you won't have this kind of problem. It probably depends on which cis vendor you purchased from.

Well now, I'm not sure who is correct.

I also received cartridges from InkjetFly. The first cartridge I changed was the LLK cartridge, which had registered as empty; the replacement cartridge did not work. I emailed Leo at Inkjetfly, who is very obliging by the way, and he told me that there was some problems with the first batch of chips. The second batch, available in 2 -3 weeks, will correct the problems.

I tried a second replacement, the LM cartridge, which had not yet registered as empty, just low, and it works.

So, maybe be safe than sorry, replace when low.

Leo is a great guy, there is no doubt. I tried another cartridge today, LK, that had registered as empty and this one worked. I guess I have some bad chips. Leo had told me that some of the chips had gotten mixed up at the factory. He requested that the second batch be labeled with the corresponding number to match the cartridge.
