Default USB for epson 2200

Hello
I have just purchased an Epson 2200 and I like it so far. I do not have a high speed usb host on my computer, just an ordinary one. I know this will make printing time longer but that is not a problem. Will it harm the printer?
Thanks.
Joan

no USB is backwards compatible. also don't be so sure its that much slower. an 8x10 still takes a few minutes to complete. it does produce excellent images doesn't it. if you have an open pci slot in your computer adding both firewire400 and usb2 together costs about $40 delivered.

Thanks for your response. I hate to show my ignorance but what does backwards compatable mean? Is it possible to install these upgrades myself?

it means that usb 2 can plug into usb 1 and function at usb 1 speeds with no ill effect.

in plain terms it will work with a previous version.
