This question is a general one regarding printing quality. Basically i'm printing photos on my i9900 5X7 and i load the paper in. At the top edge of the photo in the two top corners I get 2 streaks of black ink off of the page. I tried simple cleaning, I tried deep cleaning, I tried bending the paper per canons website. I even took out the print head, and cleaned off excess ink on it, nothing works. I'm going to return it soon, but in the meantime any suggestions on possiblities of fixing it, and what casued this problem?

:homey: Hi

I have the i9950 (UK) and never have had that problem. If you are printing borderless then you may have spilt ink over the rollers. Try running several sheets of A4 bank (cheap injket) paper through as blanks until the streaks disappear. That may help.

Thanks!! I think your right, although much cleaning and printing didn't solve the problem. I returned the printer yesterday and am waiting for another one to come in. Canon was very apologetic about the issue and is sending me three ink cartridges for free because of the wasted paper. The thing is when I first printed the alignment page the black type was also smudged so it had to be a defect out of the box. I'm just hoping that this will not continue on the next one. Thanks again
