Did you use Canon paper? If not, try that in addition to the other suggestions. Good luck!

I've found that setting up my i9900 printer using the "Printing using intents" ( & saving the profile for quick retrieval) works best for me. Also check out this page for detailed monitor calibration info:

I recently found this web site. This link should take you to a PDF Document that will help. It is for an i9900 for use in PS7 but the same thing should work for other printers.
